Nutrient deficiency symptoms

Nutrient deficiency symptoms often confuse most of the field officials in recognising and maintain plant health by offering correct recommendations.Sound understanding of nutrients and its uptake for necessary plant metabolism functions is very much needed on this occasion to rectify the deficiency. So I placed four photographs for further clarification and discussion but not well identified because of limited participation.I confused this symptom with Iron, Sulphur, Magnesium or nitrogen.
My analysis reached conclusion and ruled out the options of Fe, S, Mg and agree as follows by seeing the visual symptoms on the plant.I could not analyse soil test and plant tissue results for accuracy because of the time constraints and difficulty to obtain the result in the short period of time.

NITROGEN DEFICIENCY

The leaves become pale green at all stages of plant growth. The midribs, reddish pink petioles and leaf reddish-pink tinge.

Application of Urea at the following rate depending on the age of the plant.

1. For 1-2 months old plant

                           50gm/plant upto two months

2.For 3-5 month old plant
65gm/plant every second day upto 5 months.

Zinc deficiency in Banana The availability of micro nutrient zinc is very necessary to plants because it is an important components of various enzymes that are responsible for driving growth and developments of plants.Carbohydrate, protein and chlorophyll formation is significantly reduced in Zn deficient soils , studies revealed. The availability of Zn to plant is hampered due to its immobile nature and soil conditions.  The research projects of certain agencies shows that the following findings Soil temperature : Cool soil temperatures can intensify the need for zinc to plants. When soil temperature is low, mineralization of soil organic matter slows down resulting less amount of zinc being released in the soil solution  and thus less or limited uptake by plants.Root growth is also stunted by cool temperatures and reduces the plant's ability to find new sources of zinc in the soil profile. Phosphorous level : There is a known relationship between phosphorous and zinc in t...
Banana Banana is growing in more than 150 countries and having more than 1000types which subdivided into 50 groups. It is a staple food for many countries and has a greater value in nutritional aspects Kerala is bestowed with many varieties of Banana. My search ends with more than fifty varieties of Bananas including all groups. Here I am finding the evolutionary history of two important crops called Banana and coconut. But both belong to different Genus. It is very difficult to find the traces of similarities to two crops and maybe unnecessary to the academics. The evolution of plants always a fascinating subject to me. I believe the evolution of plants happens from one plant to another. So I studied the following characteristics of two crops. Banana by FAO                   It is a giant herbaceous plant with an apparent trunk that bends without breaking The banana plant is not a tree. The banana has an underground stem with a...
